Nathaniel Barker
Managing Director and Co-Head of Investment Grade Corporate Credit, Barings

Nathaniel Barker, managing director, is a member of the Barings Multi-Strategy Fixed Income Group, co-head of the Investment Grade Corporate Credit Group and leads the group's insurance practice. Nat is responsible for the portfolio management of the firm's multi-asset insurance client mandates as well as the investment grade corporate bond strategies. Previously, Nat served as the head of Investment Grade Corporate Credit Research and was a credit analyst in the Global Fixed Income platform covering the consumer sectors. Nat has worked in the industry since 1994. Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Nat was a distressed company consultant with experience representing creditors and debtors in both formal insolvencies and out-of-court restructurings at Kroll Talbot Hughes. Prior to that, he worked in the corporate restructuring groups of KPMG and Arthur Andersen. Nat holds a B.A. from Tufts University, a general course certificate from the London School of Economics and an M.B.A. from the University of Utah.
