Chris Liddell is the assistant to the president and director of Strategic Initiatives at the White House Office of American Innovation. Previously, Chris served as vice chairman and chief financial officer at General Motors, where he led their global finance operations and $23 billion IPO in November 2010, at the time the largest public offering in history. Mr. Liddell served as the CFO and SVP of Microsoft Corporation from May 2005 to December 2009. Mr. Liddell has also served as the CFO of International Paper, CFO of WME-IMG, a privately held company in the media, sports and entertainment industry and CEO of one of the largest forest products companies in Asia/Pacific. He was executive director of the Romney Presidential Transition Planning team. He was also the founding chairman of the leading philanthropic foundation in New Zealand and a director of the New Zealand Rugby Union. He holds a bachelor of engineering from the University of Auckland and a master of philosophy from Oxford University.
