As chief executive, David Zaslav sets the strategy and oversees operations for Discovery Communications' global portfolio of nonfiction, lifestyle, sports and kids programming brands across pay-TV, free-to-air and digital platforms. Under Zaslav, Discovery began trading as a public company in 2008 and became a Fortune 500 company in 2014. Since he took the helm in 2007, Discovery has launched some of the fastest-growing U.S. cable networks, including Investigation Discovery, Velocity, and OWN. Zaslav has diversified Discovery's portfolio with investments in kids in Latin America and sports in Europe, where he led the company's acquisition of Eurosport. Under his leadership, Eurosport became home to the 2018-2024 Olympic Games across Europe. He has expanded Discovery's audiences across screens with digital content holding company Group Nine Media, OTT offerings Eurosport Player and Dplay, as well as the GO portfolio of TVE apps and Discovery K!ds Play. Prior to joining Discovery, Zaslav had a distinguished career at NBCUniversal.
