Previously, he was head of global hospitality and strategy for four years, helping transform the home-sharing start-up into the world's largest hospitality brand. In that time, Conley taught his award-winning methods to hundreds of thousands of Airbnb hosts and created the Airbnb Open. Earlier, he was CEO of Joie de Vivre Hospitality, which he founded at age 26 and built into the second-largest boutique hotel brand in the world. He held that role for 24 years before joining Airbnb. Conley is the bestselling author of "Peak" and "Emotional Equations," which explore transformation and meaning in business and life. He founded Fest300 (now merged with Everfest) to share his passion for world festivals and serves on the boards of the Burning Man Project and the Esalen Institute. He is a recipient of hospitality's highest honor, the Pioneer Award. He holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. from Stanford University, and an honorary doctorate in psychology from Saybrook University.
