An advocate for diversity with a deep commitment to human rights, Louise Pentland brings a broad global understanding of privacy, government relations and intellectual property to PayPal. In her role as chief business affairs & legal officer, she ensures that PayPal complies with financial, regulatory and legal requirements across all global markets and effectively engages stakeholders to promote PayPal's reputation globally through its corporate affairs initiatives. She is also leads PayPal's people function, which is responsible for leadership development, training, workforce planning, employee relations, compensation, benefits and diversity initiatives. Prior to PayPal, Louise served as chief legal officer at Nokia Corporation, where she managed a team of 400 lawyers, IP experts and government relations professionals. In 2016 Louise was named as one of the world's top 30 general counsels by the Financial Times. She is a member of the board of directors of Hitachi and the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley.
