Eric Cantor

Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Moelis & Co; Former Majority Leader, U.S. House of Representatives

Eric Cantor is vice chairman and managing director of Moelis & Co. and the former majority leader of the U.S. House of Representatives. He is also a board member at Moelis. Cantor, who has more than 25 years of political and business experience, and was the U.S. representative for Virginia's 7th congressional district from 2001 to 2014. He was elected to serve as the House majority leader for the 112th and 113th Congresses, where he led the public policy agenda. During his time in office, Cantor was a leading voice on the economy, job creation and policies focused on improving the lives of the American middle class, and championed pro-growth solutions such as lowering taxes, eliminating excessive regulation, strengthening businesses and encouraging entrepreneurship. Cantor received his B.A. from the George Washington University, his law degree from the College of William and Mary, and his M.A. from Columbia University in New York.
