Kara Swisher
Executive Editor, Re/code

Kara Swisher is executive editor of Re/code, a tech news, reviews and analysis site. Previously, Swisher co-produced and co-hosted the Wall Street Journal's "D: All Things Digital," a conference with leading players in tech and media. She wrote the Journal's "BoomTown" column, covered breaking news about the Web's major players and Internet policy issues, and wrote feature articles on technology as well as a weekly column for the Personal Journal called "Home Economics." While at the Journal, she won a Loeb Award for her coverage of Yahoo. Swisher also authored "Aol.com: How Steve Case Beat Bill Gates, Nailed the Netheads and Made Millions in the War for the Web," and its sequel, "There Must Be a Pony in Here Somewhere: The AOL Time Warner Debacle and the Quest for a Digital Future." Earlier, she was a reporter at the Washington Post. Swisher received a B.A. from Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service and a master's in journalism from Columbia University.
