Debra Black is co-founder and chair of the Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA). Black and her husband, Leon, founded MRA in 2007. The largest private funder of melanoma research worldwide, MRA has funded $80 million since its inception. Black is also a Broadway producer and has won Tony Awards for "The History Boys" and "The Pillow Man." She is on the boards of Rockefeller University and the Metropolitan Museum of Art and has served as vice chair of the New York State Council on the Arts and as board member of Lincoln Center Theater and the Public Theater. Black received a B.A. in English from Barnard College.
