Carrie Thome is director of investments at Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF), overseeing management its $2.7 billion investment portfolio and co-managing its start-up portfolio investment activities, managing a team of six financial professionals. 2016: Thome was named the 18th most powerful institutional investor in the world by Chief Investment Officer magazine. Investors ranked asset owners by five factors: innovation, collaboration, talent development, fund size and tenure. 2015: WARF was recognized with an Industry Innovation Award by Chief Investment Officer magazine for its risk-balanced philosophy toward investment in the Foundation category. 2001-2007 WARF: Associate director of investments, promoted to current role. 1996-2001: State of WI Investment Board, assistant portfolio manager for a $3 billion private equity portfolio. Thome serves on the finance and investment committees of Agrace HospiceCare and Madison Community Foundation and as trustee for Madison Funds.
