Ronald O'Hanley is president and CEO of State Street Global Advisors, the investment management arm of State Street and one of the world's largest investment managers, with nearly $2.5 trillion in assets under management as of the end of 2016. He is also vice chairman of State Street, and sits on the company's management committee. Previously, he was president of asset management for Fidelity Investments and a member of Fidelity's executive committee. O'Hanley was also president and CEO of BNY Mellon Asset Management and vice chairman of BNY Mellon. Earlier, he was a partner with McKinsey. O'Hanley serves on the boards of Unum Corp, and Rhode Island Commerce Corp. He is vice chairman of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center board of directors and is on the boards of the East/West Institute, Boston Foundation, Committee for Economic Development, WBUR, Institute of Contemporary Art and the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Administration at Syracuse University. He holds a B.A. from Syracuse and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
