Joseph Hooley is chairman and CEO of State Street, a leading provider of financial services to institutional investors, with nearly $29 trillion in assets under custody and administration and $2.5 trillion in assets under management as of the end of 2016. Hooley joined the firm in 1986 and has held a variety of leadership roles. He became president and chief operating officer in 2008, with responsibility for all of State Street's asset servicing and trading activities worldwide, its securities operations and its corporate technology organization. He assumed his current role in 2010. Hooley is on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and is a member of the Financial Services Forum in Washington, D.C. He also serves on the boards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston, the President's Council of Massachusetts General Hospital, the Massachusetts Competitive Partnership and Boston College.
