William Ford
CEO, General Atlantic

As CEO of General Atlantic, Bill Ford has over 25 years of experience investing in and helping to build leading growth companies, including IHS Markit, e*Trade, Priceline, and First Republic Bank. Ford joined General Atlantic in 1991 and became CEO in 2007. He serves on the boards of several current portfolio companies, including Axel Springer, IHS Markit, and Tory Burch, and is a member of the partnership committee for Oak Hill Advisors. Ford is chairman of General Atlantic's executive committee and is a member of the firm's investment, portfolio, and capital committees. He is also a member of the boards of Rockefeller University, where he is vice chairman of the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Lincoln Center. Mr. Ford also serves as vice chairman of the advisory council of the Stanford Graduate School of Business and is a member of the advisory board of the Tsinghua University's School of Economics and Management. From 2001 to 2013, Ford was a trustee of Amherst College and currently serves on the investment committee.
