Arunma Oteh, who is vice president and treasurer of the World Bank, leads a team that manages assets totaling USD170 billion for the group, central banks, sovereign wealth funds and other official institutions. She and her team also maintain the World Bank's global reputation as a prudent and innovative borrower in over 50 currencies. She is responsible for an extensive financial advisory business for World Bank clients and continues to leverage the capital markets to tackle development issues. Prior to joining the World Bank, Arunma served as director general of the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nigeria, vice president, Corporate Services, and Group Treasurer African Development Bank, in addition to other key positions in finance. She holds a master's in business administration from Harvard Business School and a first class honors bachelor of science degree in computer science from the University of Nigeria. She has received several awards in her 33-year career, notably the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) National Honor.
