Michael Ferro is Chairman and CEO of Merrick Ventures, LLC. He has spent the last 25 years applying his knowledge and experience to solve complex business and social challenges, leading operational and technological breakthroughs in such industries as health, business-to-business commerce and media. In 2016, Ferro became the Chairman and largest shareholder of Tribune publishing (tronc), the multi-award-winning (92 Pulitzer Prizes) publishing company whose titles include the Los Angeles Times and Chicago Tribune. From 2008 to 2015, Ferro served as Chairman of NASDAQ company Merge Healthcare, turning it from $10-million enterprise value into a billion-dollar acquisition by IBM Watson in 2015. Ferro is an Emmy Award-winning executive producer of a documentary about the life of Sun-Times film critic Roger Ebert and the series The Bay (winner in 2015 and 2016). Additional awards include Forbes Tech's 100 Highest Rollers and Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year in Technology. Ferro is also an Aspen Institute Henry Crown Fellow.
