Dave McClure is a founding partner at 500 Startups, a global venture capital seed fund and startup accelerator based in Silicon Valley with $250 million in assets under management. 500 Startups has invested in more than 1,500 companies in over 50 countries, including Credit Karma, GrabTaxi (now Grab), Twilio, Udemy, Ipsy, TalkDesk, Intercom, MakerBot (acquired by Stratasys) and Wildfire (acquired by Google). A tech veteran with 25-plus years in Silicon Valley, McClure is a self-proclaimed geek, investor, former coder and entrepreneur, occasional blogger and Internet marketing nerd. He has managed early-stage investments for Founders Fund and led the fbFund administered by Facebook. McClure was an investor/advisor in a number of startups after leaving PayPal in 2004. Earlier, he founded Aslan Computing, which was acquired by Servinet in 1998. McClure was named to the Forbes 2016 Midas List of the world's top tech investors. He received a B.S. in engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
