Thomas J. Barrack, Jr. is the Executive Chairman of Colony NorthStar, Inc. (NYSE: CLNS). He previously held the position of Founder and Executive Chairman of Colony Capital, Inc., the predecessor to Colony NorthStar, Inc. CLNS is one of the largest diversified real estate and investment management leaders in the world. Prior to founding the Colony business, Tom was a principal with the Robert M. Bass Group, the principal investment vehicle of the Fort Worth, Texas, investor Robert M. Bass. He also served in the Reagan administration as deputy undersecretary of the Department of the Interior. In 2017, Tom served as the Chairman of the 58th Presidential Inaugural Committee. He was also a Senior Advisor to Donald Trump's Presidential Campaign. In 2010, French president Nicolas Sarkozy knighted him as a Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur, the highest award bestowed by the French government for citizens and foreigners. Tom received his B.A. frpm USC and earned his J.D. from University of San Diego.
