Jim Mellon is an entrepreneur, investor and chairman of Burnbrae, a private asset manager. Burnbrae is a substantial landlord in Germany and the Isle of Man, and it owns Sleepwell Hotels. Mellon established his own businesses in 1991, including Charlemagne Capital and Regent Pacific, an Asian biotech firm. Mellon is the controlling shareholder and chairman of Manx Financial Corp. and the controlling shareholder as well of Webis Holdings. He is co-founder of the mining groups Uramin and Red Dragon Resources and a founder shareholder of Portage Biotech and Juvenescence Ltd. He is also a director of Fast Forward and Condor Gold, both London-listed companies. He has published four books with Al Chalabi: "Wake Up!" (2005), "10 Investments for the Ten Years Ahead" (2008), "Cracking the Code" (2012) and "Fast Forward" (2014). Their new book, "Juvenescence," which focuses on longevity investment, will be published in May 2017. Mellon, who was a student at the University of Oxford, is an honorary fellow of Oriel College at Oxford.
