Jamie Dimon is chairman of the board and chief executive officer of JPMorgan Chase & Co. Dimon became CEO on Jan 1, 2006, and one year later became chairman of the board. He was named president and chief operating officer upon the company's merger with Bank One Corp on July 1, 2004. Dimon began his career at American Express. Next, he served as chief financial officer and then president at Commercial Credit. Dimon served as president and chief operating officer of Travelers from 1990-1998 while concurrently serving as chief operating officer of Smith Barney Inc. In 1998, Dimon was named president of Citigroup Inc. Dimon earned his bachelor's degree from Tufts University and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. He serves on the board of directors of the Clearing House and Harvard Business School. He is chairman of Business Roundtable and serves on executive committee of Business Council and Partnership for NYC, and also a member of Financial Services Forum, Financial Services Roundtable and Council on Foreign Relations.
