California's most populous and dense region, the Los Angeles and Orange County metropolitan basin, has long sought to address the challenges of sprawl, traffic, and air quality with an integrated approach that also accommodates future growth. Even with new voter-approved funding for transportation and housing, leaders still face familiar challenges. At this session, leaders from the local to the federal levels will discuss potential solutions and draw a roadmap to regional prosperity.

  • As federal sources for infrastructure construction and repair wane, will local revenue alone support 21st century development and spur economic growth?
  • With the voter-backed funding, how can the region better address long-term investment needs around infrastructure, housing, energy, and transportation?
  • How can regional authorities better coordinate to integrate investments in transportation and mobility among cities and communities across the Southland?
