Ryan Alam is a co-founder of Terra Limpa, an opportunistic real estate private equity fund that won the 2016 Morgan Stanley Sustainable Investing Challenge. Terra Limpa is committed to rebuilding Angola's agricultural legacy by developing smallholder farms in areas affected by land mines. Before Terra Limpa, Alam was chief operating officer at Menlo Avenue, a software development company. Previously, he was an analyst at Bel Air Investment Advisors in Los Angeles and, before that, a research assistant at Egmont Institute in Belgium. Alam holds an M.S. in social entrepreneurship from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California and is a candidate for an M.P.A. at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
