Ina Jaffe

Correspondent, NPR

Ina Jaffe is a correspondent for NPR, covering the aging of America. Her stories have focused on older adults' involvement in politics and elections, dating and divorce, work and retirement, and fashion and sports, as well as issues affecting long-term care and end-of-life choices. She also has a regular spot on "Weekend Edition" with Scott Simon called "1 in 5," in which she discusses issues relevant to the one-fifth of the U.S. population who will be 65 years old or older by 2030. Jaffe was recently named one of 50 "Influencers in Aging" by Next Avenue, a PBS publication, in which she was commended for reinventing reporting on aging. Jaffe also reports on politics. She has contributed to NPR's coverage of national elections since 2008. Her investigative and enterprise stories have won awards from Investigative Reporters and Editors, the American Bar Association, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Alliance for Women in Media, among others.
