Troy Carter is founder and CEO of Atom Factory, as well as founding and general partner of Cross Culture VC. Atom Factory steers the careers of artists, notably Meghan Trainor and Charlie Puth, and invests in next-wave entrepreneurs, focusing on culture. Carter also oversees content platform Smashd.co and maintains a growing investment portfolio of 80-plus startups, including Uber, Spotify, Dropbox and Warby Parker. He established the careers of such recording artists as multi-platinum Grammy winner Lady Gaga and hip-hop sensation Eve. Carter founded Atom Factory in 2010 after forming the boutique artist management firm Erving Wonder. Before that, he joined P. Diddy's Bad Boy Entertainment and promoted concerts in New York for the Notorious B.I.G. Earlier, Carter worked for Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment in Los Angeles. He started out in West Philadelphia as a protege of DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, the hip-hop duo with Smith as rapper. Carter was a guest shark for season 7 of ABC's reality show "Shark Tank."
