Francisco González Díaz
Francisco González Díaz is CEO of ProMéxico, where since 2013 he has led Mexico's efforts to promote exports, attract foreign direct investment and internationalize Mexican companies. Previously, he served as an executive in the biotechnology, nutrition, banking and finance sectors. In the public sector, he was chief of protocol of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade Uruguay Round. He also was director of innovation and quality at Nacional Financiera and deputy director general of strategic planning with the Interior Ministry. González has been Mexico's ambassador to Germany; ProMéxico's regional director for Europe, Middle East and Africa; and commercial counselor for Germany and Central and Eastern Europe for Bancomext. He was a finance professor at the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM) and at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional. He has twice been awarded the Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, and in 2014 he received the Professional Merit Award from ITAM.
