Belinda Johnson is chief business affairs and legal officer at Airbnb, where she heads the company's engagement strategy and civic partnership efforts and oversees its public policy, community mobilization, legal, communications, compliance, social initiatives and philanthropy teams. Johnson joined Airbnb as general counsel in 2011 and has been a key leader in its growth from a small startup to a global hospitality brand. She has practiced law and partnered on business affairs in the technology industry for more than two decades. Before joining Airbnb, she was deputy general counsel at Yahoo and, during the first wave of the Internet, served as general counsel and corporate secretary to Broadcast.com, one of the first companies to stream music over the Web. Johnson holds a B.A. and J.D. from the University of Texas.
