Chairman and CEO, Babson Capital Management
Thomas Finke is chairman and CEO of Babson Capital Management LLC, a global investment firm with more than $223 billion in assets under management and locations in the U.S., Europe, Australia and Southeast Asia. Finke is also chairman of Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers and director of Wood Creek Capital Management, Babson subsidiaries. A 28-year veteran in the banking and investment industries, Finke joined Babson Capital in 2002, when the firm acquired First Union Institutional Debt Management Inc., which Finke co-founded. Before IDM, he held positions in high yield and loan syndications at First Union Capital Markets, Bear Stearns and Co., and Mellon Bank. From 2008 to 2011, Finke served as executive vice president and chief investment officer for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co. He is a founding member and director of the Loan Syndications and Trading Association. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and an M.B.A. from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business.
