Martin Ford
Author; Entrepreneur

Martin Ford is an author and entrepreneur. He is also founder of a Silicon Valley-based software development firm. Ford's two books are the New York Times best-seller "Rise of the Robots: Technology and the Threat of a Jobless Future," which won the 2015 Financial Times/McKinsey Business Book of the Year Award, and "The Lights in the Tunnel: Automation, Accelerating Technology and the Economy of the Future." Ford has more than 25 years of experience in computer design and software development. He has written for the New York Times, Fortune, Forbes, the Atlantic, the Washington Post, Project Syndicate, the Huffington Post and the Fiscal Times, and has been a guest on NPR and CNBC. Ford is a frequent keynote speaker on robotics and artificial intelligence and what they mean for the economy, job market and society of the future. He holds a computer engineering degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a graduate business degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
