Speaker's Biography:

Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck
Prince of Bhutan; Global Ambassador to The King's Challenge

Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, the prince of Bhutan and the global ambassador to The King's Challenge, is a member of the board of the Tarayana Foundation, established in 2003 by Queen Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck to address the problems of the disadvantaged she witnessed during her visits to the remote corners of Bhutan. Despite the Bhutanese government's antipoverty efforts, small communities in isolated areas still lag behind. The foundation helps these communities achieve self-sufficiency through small and targeted interventions. The prince is also the president of the Bhutan Olympic Committee. He received his early education in Thimphu, Bhutan, attended private school in Connecticut and went on to study modern history and political science at St. Peter's College at Oxford, where he received bachelor's and honorary master's degrees, graduating in 2007. In 2012, he attended two intensive courses at the graduate business school INSEAD ("Transition to General Management" and "Leading for Results") at its Singapore and Fontainebleau campuses.
