Chairman and CEO, LWPartners
Leon Wagner is chairman and CEO of LWPartners. He has worked in leveraged finance since the industry's inception in the late 1970s. He currently conducts his business through LWP, a holding company that owns a broker-dealer and is partnered with TrilogyLWP. Throughout his career, Wagner has helped structure and finance new industries such as cable television, wireless communications and gaming, and companies including the successful launch of Moelis & Company. In 2000, Wagner became co-founder and chairman of start-up leveraged finance asset manager GoldenTree Asset Management, now an industry leader managing more than $20 billion. At GoldenTree, Wagner directed all non-investment activities including business development, client services, compliance, business management and strategic planning. In 2003, he received the Gustave L. Levy Award of the UJA-Federation of New York for his lifelong commitment to organizations meeting basic needs, funding medical research and Jewish causes.
