Robert Iger is chairman and CEO of The Walt Disney Company. Previously, he served as president and CEO, and before that, president and chief operating officer. During Iger's tenure, Disney has been recognized as one of the "Most Reputable Companies" by Forbes magazine (2006-13), one of "America's Most Admired Companies" by Fortune magazine (2009-13), one of the "World's Most Respected Companies" by Barron's (2009-13) and "Company of the Year" by Yahoo Finance (2013). Iger officially joined the Disney senior management team in 1996 as chairman of ABC Group and in 1999 became president of Walt Disney International. He began his career at ABC in 1974 and guided the complex merger of Capital Cities/ABC, Inc. and Disney. Iger is on the boards of Apple, the U.S.-China Business Council, the National September 11 Memorial & Museum, and the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. He is a member of President Obama's Export Council, the Partnership for a New American Economy and the Academy of Arts & Sciences. He is a graduate of Ithaca College.
