Iris Yedidia

Group Leader, Agricultural Microbiology and Biotechnology, Agricultural Research Organization, Israeli Ministry of Agriculture

Iris Yedidia is a researcher and group leader for agricultural microbiology and biotechnology at the Agricultural Research Organization of Israel's Ministry of Agriculture, specializing in the physiology of flower bulbs and the involvement of natural products in plant resistance to bacteria. She is a leading researcher on aquatic plants that are suitable for water reclamation and their role in artificial wetlands as assimilators of pollutants. Yedidia has initiated a collaboration with high schools to educate young people on the importance of water quality and the preservation of natural water resources. Yedidia holds a bachelor's degree in biology from Haifa University and a Ph.D. in agricultural microbiology from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and has performed post-doctoral research at the Weizmann Institute of Science in the field of molecular genetics. Yedidia has numerous publications in the field and is editing the first practical guidebook for flower bulbs in Hebrew.
