Executive Chairman, Guggenheim
Alan Schwartz is executive chairman of Guggenheim, a global, independent and privately held financial services firm. Previously he was CEO of The Bear Stearns Cos. During his career with Bear Stearns, he served as president and chief operating officer, as executive vice president and co-head of investment banking, and in other financial management positions. He received a bachelor's degree from Duke University, where he has been a member of the Board of Trustees since 2005. He has also served as chairman of Duke's Fuqua School of Business Board of Visitors and a member of its Athletic Advisory Board. He is a director of St. Vincent's Services, The National Mentoring Partnership, the American Foundation for AIDS Research and the New York University Medical Center. In addition, he is the former chairman of the Robin Hood Foundation Board of Directors.
