Senior Economist, Chicago Climate Exchange
Jeffrey O'Hara is a Senior Economist at the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), responsible for researching and evaluating opportunities for the development of water quantity and quality markets at CCX. O'Hara has authored a study for the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority to serve as a clearinghouse in the state′s water quality nutrient credit market, and studies evaluating the feasibility of establishing a regulated exchange for water quantity licenses in the western United States. He also serves as the staff liaison to the CCX Forestry Committee, developing new futures contracts for air emissions and environmental markets, developing new greenhouse gas offset project protocols, and overseeing CCX offset verifier accreditation in partnership with the American National Standards Institute. O'Hara has held previous positions at the Congressional Budget Office and Charles River Associates Inc. He received a Ph.D. in economics at the University of California, San Diego, and a B.S. in economics from The George Washington University.
