Chairman, Blum Capital Partners
Richard Blum is Chairman and CEO of Blum Capital Partners L.P., a private equity firm with approximately $3 billion under management. Blum is also co-chairman, Asia, at TPG Capital and co-founder of Newbridge Capital (now part of TPG Capital). Blum serves as chairman of CB Richard Ellis and is on the board of Fairmont Raffles Holdings International Ltd. and Current Media LLC. He was recently appointed to the San Francisco Federal Reserve Board′s Economic Advisory Council. A member of the University of California Board of Regents, Blum is the founder and chairman of the American Himalayan Foundation. He is also a trustee and member of the executive committee of The Carter Center, founded by President Carter, and he is on the boards of The Wilderness Society and The California Academy of Sciences. In 2006 he funded the Blum Center for Developing Economies at the University of California, Berkeley, where he received a bachelor's degree and an M.B.A.
