Regional Director for the Americas, Australian Trade Commission
Grame Barty is Regional Director for the Americas at the Australian Trade Commission, the government's trade and investment development agency. Barty oversees Austrade's operations in Canada, the U.S. and Latin America across a wide range of industries. Prior to joining Austrade, Barty spent 11 years building and managing a highly successful software business, HarvestRoad Ltd., which he took public in 1999. Prior to that, he was with Fujitsu Australia Ltd. as acting general manager in telecommunications and with Telecom New Zealand. At both, he was involved in establishing global R&D and manufacturing facilities in Australia. Barty was also an assistant vice president of Nortel Networks, where he was named Australian and Asia Pacific Manager of the Year. Previously Barty served on the boards of the Australian Information Industries Association and of the Bentley Technology Park in Western Australia. He also spent 10 years in the military after graduating from the Royal Military College.
