Leslie Moonves has been President and CEO of CBS Corp. since its inception in 2006, helping to lead one of the world's largest media companies. Moonves previously was co-president and co-chief operating officer of Viacom Inc. and chairman of CBS, and served as president and CEO of CBS Television. Under his guidance, CBS has maintained its dominance as the No. 1 broadcast network, fueled growth in the Showtime pay cable network and, through the 2008 acquisition of CNET, transformed into one of the world's Top 10 Internet companies. Moonves has also been at the forefront of developing new ways to distribute and monetize content on new and emerging platforms worldwide. Additionally, his move to consolidate the company's local TV and radio stations has positioned CBS as a leader in local media. In the publishing world, he helped lead Simon & Schuster′s move into the eBooks marketplace.
