David Heber is the Founding Director of the Center for Human Nutrition at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles. In addition, he is a Professor of Medicine and Public Health at the School of Medicine, where he has been on the faculty since 1978. He is also the founding chief of the Division of Clinical Nutrition in the Department of Medicine. Heber has written nearly 200 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 60 book chapters and two professional texts: Dietary Fat, Lipids, Hormones and Tumorigenesis; and Nutritional Oncology. He has written four books for the public: Natural Remedies for a Healthy Heart, The Resolution Diet, What Color Is Your Diet and The L.A. Shape Diet. His main research interests are obesity treatment and nutrition for cancer prevention and treatment. Heber received a B.S. from UCLA and graduated from Harvard Medical School. He received a Ph.D. in physiology from UCLA.
