Usama Malik is Vice President of Worldwide Innovation at Pfizer Inc., where he focuses on creating a culture of innovation, while investing in transformational and disruptive ideas that enhance existing revenues or generate new ones, improve the company′s cost structure or reduce business risk. Prior to assuming this role, Malik was a senior member of Pfizer′s Corporate Strategy group, responsible for managing the Pfizer-Wyeth integration, designing and developing the BBC R&D model and developing the company′s biosimilars strategy, among other initiatives. He previously was a leader in Booz & Company′s health-care and life sciences strategy consulting practice. Malik previously spent a number of years as a management consultant, strategic planner and product manager in the telecommunications industry. He holds a bachelor′s degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, pursued graduate course work in computer science at The Johns Hopkins University and received an M.B.A. from INSEAD.
