Matthew Winkler is Editor-in-Chief of Bloomberg News, which he co-founded with Michael Bloomberg in 1990. Bloomberg News employs 1,500 editors and reporters in 135 bureaus serving print and broadcast media. Winkler is co-author of Bloomberg by Bloomberg and the author of The Bloomberg Way: A Guide for Reporters and Editors. He has worked as a reporter for The Wall Street Journal, Barron′s, and news services of parent Dow Jones & Co. in New York and London. He is chairman of the board of the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship Program at Columbia University and a member of the board of the Committee to Protect Journalists. Winkler is the 2007 recipient of the Gerald Loeb Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award and the 2007 Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award for business and financial reporting. Winkler received a bachelor′s degree and an honorary doctorate of law from Kenyon College, where he is a trustee.
