Investment Director, FAPES
Ricardo Weiss is the Investment Director at FAPES, the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) Pension Fund. He worked at BNDES from 1972 to 1987 and 1999 to 2006 in areas such as credit risk, planning, finance and operations; at Banco Patrimônio in asset allocation; and at the Icatu Group, an asset management and insurance company, as portfolio manager. Weiss is a member of the Investment Committee at ABRAPP, the Brazilian Pension Fund Association, and of the Benchmarks Committee and Securities Committee at ANBIMA, the Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Markets Entities. He has also been a board member of OI Telecom and GTD Electric Energy. Weiss has written extensively about pension funds, asset allocation, risk, benchmarks, style analysis and corporate governance. He holds a degree in economics from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and a master′s degree from COPPE/UFRJ.
