Mark Cutis
Chief Investment Officer, Special Situations, Abu Dhabi Investment Council

Mark Cutis is Chief Investment Officer, Special Situations, of the Abu Dhabi Investment Council. He joined the investment council in 2008. From 2004 until 2008, Cutis worked at Shinsei Bank in the newly created position of chief investment officer. He also worked with HVB, the Munich-headquartered German bank (now Unicredito), having been originally hired in the bank's New York branch as treasurer for the Americas and responsible for developing and directing HVB's proprietary allocation to alternative investments. Subsequently, he transferred to Tokyo as the CEO of HVB's Japanese operations. His core expertise is in proprietary trading, asset liability management and asset allocation. His experience includes both direct, hands-on management of risk and risk-takers, and allocating to external managers in alternatives. Cutis has experience both on the buy and sell sides. He holds a B.A. in economics from Emory University and an M.B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania′s Wharton School.
