Myron Scholes

Nobel Laureate, 1997; Chairman, Platinum Grove Asset Management


Myron Scholes, a 1997 recipient of the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences, is Chairman of Platinum Grove Asset Management. He is the Frank E. Buck Professor of Finance, Emeritus, at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where he taught from 1983 to 1996, and was a senior research fellow at the Hoover Institution from 1987 to 1996. Scholes is known for his work in options pricing, capital markets and the financial services industry. He is co-creator of the Black-Scholes options pricing model, which was recognized by the Nobel committee. He has been the Edward Eagle Brown Professor of Finance in the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and director of its Center for Research in Security Prices. He received a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
