Senior Advisor, Rand Corp.
Brian Jenkins is Senior Advisor to the president of the Rand Corp. and an authority on terrorism. A former Army captain who served with the Special Forces in the Dominican Republic and Vietnam, he founded Rand's terrorism research program. In 1996, Jenkins was appointed by President Clinton to the White House Commission on Aviation Safety and Security. He also served as an advisor to the National Commission on Terrorism and in 2000 was appointed to the U.S. Comptroller General's Advisory Board. He is director of the National Transportation Security Center of Excellence at the Mineta Transportation Institute, special advisor to the International Chamber of Commerce and a member of the advisory board of its Commercial Crime Services. He is the author of several books, including Will Terrorists Go Nuclear?, Unconquerable Nation: Knowing Our Enemy, Strengthening Ourselves and International Terrorism: A New Mode of Conflict.
