Treasurer, State of Ohio
Kevin Boyce is the State Treasurer of Ohio, where he is responsible for ensuring that tax dollars are strategically invested and protected. He serves as chair of the Ohio Complete Count Committee, raising awareness of the 2010 census so that Ohio will receive appropriate funding from the federal government. In addition, he is chairman of the National Association of State Treasurers' Financial Literacy Committee. Before taking office in 2009, he served eight years on the Columbus City Council. Previously, he was executive director of KnowledgeWorks Ohio, a nonprofit whose mission is improving Ohio's schools through public development and advocacy. Boyce was named one of Ebony magazine's "30 Leaders Under 30" and received the 2009 Myrl H. Shoemaker Award for integrity and dedication in public service from the Ohio Democratic Party. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Toledo and an M.P.A. in public administration from Central Michigan University.
