Co-Head, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, UBS
Clemens Grafe is Co-Head of the economics team covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa at UBS. His specialty is in Eastern Europe and the CIS. Before joining UBS in 2005, Grafe was an economics lecturer at the University of London and worked as a consultant for the European Union, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the UK Treasury. Until 2002, Grafe worked at the EBRD, covering Russia, Central Asia and the EU accession process. From 1994 to 1996, he lived in Moscow and advised the Russian government in its IMF-backed stabilization program. Grafe received a Ph.D. in economics from the London School of Economics.
