Joe Meehan is the director of database management for the Milken Institute. He leads a team that oversees constituent involvement with Milken Institute and all its centers. Meehan, who has designed online registration for more than 1,000 events at the Milken Institute since 2006, heads the e-marketing program of the Milken Institute.
Meehan implemented the CRM software Salesforce and is the administrator for the Cvent event registration software. He directs marketing and registration for the largest gathering of the world's capital markets: the Institute's flagship four-day Global Conference that draws more than 3,000 registrants from around the world.
He launched the social media program for the Milken Institute (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) and promoted the Global Conference 2011 hashtag to the No. 1 trending topic on Twitter during the second day of the conference. Meehan also has designed large-scale events in London (London Summit), Singapore (Milken Institute Asia Center launch), New York (Partnering for Cures), and Washington, D.C. (Celebration of Science).
Previously, Meehan worked at Saint John's Health Center Foundation in Santa Monica, Calif., managing the Blackbaud Raiser's Edge database during the foundation's campaign to raise $125 million to rebuild the hospital after the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. Meehan has served as a nonprofit database consultant with organizations such as the Second Harvest Food Bank, the Red Cross, Habitat for Humanity, the Academy of the Sacred Heart and the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans.
Meehan has been a speaker at Blackbaud's Conference on Philanthropy and was voted a Top 10 speaker two years in a row. He is involved with several nonprofits in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Charleston and his hometown of New Orleans.
