Laurie Strangia is head of marketing and technology for the Institute’s Events department, where her focus is on using technology to innovate and improve the way we engage with our sponsors and attendees. Before joining the Institute, Strangia served as senior vice president, engagement and insights, for UBM Americas, the largest event organizer in the United States. She transformed UBM’s marketing architecture to improve communication and lead nurturing. Her team’s success led to a global rollout of its platform integration, data standardization and persona development solutions. This trifecta generated a holistic view of the customer, enhanced communications targeting and increased engagement rates. Earlier, Strangia worked in digital marketing at two successful startup firms, each of which was acquired for several hundred million dollars during her tenure. In her spare time, Strangia serves as an advisor and mentor to startups in the Los Angeles area.
