Bradley D. Belt is chairman of Palisades Capital Management LLC, a boutique restructuring advisory and investment firm he co-founded. He serves on the board of Zurich American Life Insurance Company and Shenkman Capital Management, and he is a senior fellow at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business.
Before returning to the private sector, Belt served as senior managing director of the Milken Institute, leading the Institute's expansion in Washington, D.C. and overseeing the establishment of the Center for Financial Markets and other finance and economic policy initiatives. Under his leadership, the Institute launched a monthly series of briefings on Capitol Hill for congressional staff and a dinner roundtable series with key leaders from business, finance and government; sponsored numerous policy forums; and dramatically enhanced the Institute's engagement with Congress, the administration, regulatory agencies and trade associations.
Prior to joining the Milken Institute, Belt served in the Bush administration as the executive director and CEO of the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, where he was responsible for operations of the federal pension insurance program and management of a $60 billion investment portfolio. Belt had also been appointed by President Bush to the Social Security Advisory Board and helped shape and communicate administration policy on retirement security issues. He held other executive and senior staff positions in the public, private and nonprofit sectors, and is a frequent speaker and commentator on economic policy, pensions, financial regulation and corporate governance matters.
