Armen Bedroussian is a senior economist at the Milken Institute. His expertise includes U.S. economy and sub-regional analysis with an emphasis on labor markets, consumer spending, real estate markets and workforce-related issues. He also focuses on regional industry and occupational dynamics, impact analysis, and forecasting of regional and macroeconomic trends. In addition to creating comparative benchmarking tools for business and policy leaders, his contributions to the Institute's research have led to the development of key strategy implementation across regions.

Bedroussian has been directly involved in producing the annual "Best-Performing Cities" index that ranks U.S. metros areas by their economic performance and their ability to create jobs. He has played a leading role in many institute research projects, including the groundbreaking research contained in "An Unhealthy America: The Economic Burden of Chronic Disease," "Mind to Market: A Global Analysis of University Biotechnology Transfer and Commercialization," and more recently, "The Global Biomedical Industry: Preserving U.S. Leadership." He has provided analysis to local chambers of commerce and economic development agencies, and is often cited in the media as it relates to Institute research and topical economic content.

Before joining the Institute, Bedroussian was a teaching assistant in micro- and macroeconomics at the University of California, Riverside, where he received a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and a master's degree in economics.
