Robert Topel is a senior fellow at the Milken Institute and the Isidore Brown and Gladys J. Brown Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is also director of the George J. Stigler Center for the Study of the Economy and the State and the director of the University of Chicago Energy Initiative. Topel's research focuses on markets and prices, including health economics, industrial organization, energy economics and labor markets. Topel received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
